hello! 🙂
I am Ting. I am a queer woman, born in Singapore with Chinese and Malaysian heritage.
I am a qualified therapeutic counsellor who works in an intuitive way. Having been trained as a professional dancer, I integrate the Person-Centred Approach with my body-based skills around movement and touch.
I work in a trauma-informed, warm and experience-affirmative way. I meet my clients where they are at, with curiosity and care.
In the therapeutic process we will honour and be with whatever comes up, trusting in your intuitive intelligence.
As a movement artist, I have a deep appreciation of the relationship between our bodies and minds. In the therapy room we will listen to our bodies, learn to hear what they are telling us, and draw connections with our minds. We can also work somatically using movement to soothe and care for our bodies.
I believe in the power of community. While the therapeutic space is held one-to-one, we will hold in our awareness the larger fabric of our relationships, understanding that centred wellbeing exists in relation to those around us.
As a feminist, I have a thorough understanding of the toxic effects of living in a patriarchal society. I appreciate that patriarchal norms are harmful to all of us. I work from a feminist framework, valuing equality and every client’s right to their feelings.
As a person who lives with intersectional identities of being a woman, queer, person-of-colour and sex worker, I have a lived understanding of what it means to be marginalised and seen as ‘other’. If you identify as someone who lives outside of the norm, know that you will be met with warmth and understanding from me.
Here in my therapy room there is a space for everyone. This is your safe space.
I have experience working with:
- rape and sexual abuse
- domestic abuse
- sex workers
- LGBTQIA+
- polyamory and non-monogamy
- Neurodivergence
- relationship issues
- people of the global majority
- depression
- anxiety
- PTSD
- childhood trauma
- career issues
- family issues
